Renaissance Newark Foundation (RNF)

Committed to Newark's bright future, the Renaissance Newark Foundation (RNF) harnesses the power of education, research, and civic participation to fuel economic development, attract businesses, and create pathways to success for Newark's diverse communities.

RNF's newest initiative, Navigating Newark, will launch in 2025 and is designed to connect newcomers to the city’s heart: its businesses, institutions, and vibrant communities. Through interactive workshops, networking events, and city tours, participants will experience firsthand why Newark is the ideal place in New Jersey to live, work, study, and prosper. The program will foster deep connections between individuals and Newark’s economic landscape, empowering participants to become active members in Newark’s dynamic community.

The Foundation played a significant role in the early research for a Newark sports arena (Prudential Center); helped to lead the establishment of Greater Newark Convention and Visitors Bureau; supported the making and screening of several Newark focused documentaries (Revolution’67, The Rule, and RUST); and ran the Newark Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), an intense, targeted after-school program for a group of Newark middle and high school students who start a real business.
